As long as you are over the age of 18, anyone can apply to become a market stall holder. We need to make sure we always have a broad mix of products for shoppers so the more diverse your products are, the more likely you are to be approved.
Yes, all stall holders are required to have public liability insurance.
Once your application to trade has been accepted you will be issued with your formal licence agreement. Your stall must be manned and open throughout the Markets opening hours and ending your licence will require one months’ notice.

All stalls should be open for business seven days per week with normal business hours defined in conjunction with our seasonal calendar.
Low season 10am – 3pm
Mid season 10am – 4pm
High season 9am – 6pm
Our contracts run from February to December with specific dates defined within your licence agreement.
This varies depending on the size of your unit, the type of product you want to sell as well as the position of your stall. Those in prime locations pay more rent. Once your licence fee has been agreed you will need to pay a 10% deposit within seven days to secure your unit.
Your licence fee is invoiced in 20 equal instalments between April and September and includes a service charge for general waste disposal.
Electricity charge is the the traders responsibility and is not included in the licence fee.
Parking permits are available at an additional charge.
